Rabassa Guillamon's Brace Leads Offensive Explosion Against Stonehill

NORTH EASTON, MASS. – FDU men's soccer picked up a 5-0 road victory over Stonehill on Sunday afternoon.

The Knights dominated the game from start to finish, exploding for their highest goal total in a game this season.

The scoring barrage began in the thirteenth minute. Jaime Barbero found the back of the net for an unassisted goal, getting FDU ahead 1-0. Barbero's goal puts his total for the season at four, one shy of a career-high mark of five.

Barbero proceeded to spread the scoring wealth around in the 28th minute. He sent a nice ball to Takuto Nishide, who sent home his second goal of the year, padding the Knight lead to 2-0. Barbero's assist gave him a three-point afternoon in North Easton.

Just before the close of the half, Arnau Rabassa Guillamon announced his presence in the match. The senior found the bottom right corner of the net off a Nishide pass, extending the Knight lead to 3-0 going into halftime.

Out of the half, the Rabassa Guillamon show continued. In the 68th minute, he buried his second goal of the match off an assist from Eric Dlabal. The goal made it a brace for Rabassa Guillamon, his first of the season. Rabassa Guillamon's electric afternoon also moved his goal total up to five on the season. That mark ranks second in the NEC, trailing only LIU's Niklas Thanhofer.

Rabassa Guillamon also now ranks second in the NEC in points with 13.

In the 77th minute, Luke Ayaz hopped in the scoring party to cap off the afternoon. He converted on a pass from Takuto Nishide in front of an empty net to make it 5-0 Knights.

On the backside for FDU, head coach Jaymee Highcock was treated to an excellent effort from goalkeeper Victor Laracca. Making his collegiate debut, Laracca blanked the Skyhawks, picking up a clean sheet with three saves.

The victory moves FDU into second place in the NEC table, trailing only Saint Francis.
