Reynolds Notches Career-High Against Fordham

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Junior guard Brayden Reynolds tallied 16 points off the bench for a career-high night, but it wasn't enough as FDU (3-7, 0-0) fell on the road Wednesday night to Fordham (5-5, 0-0) 84-75.

Offensively, Terrence Brown and Reynolds paced FDU. Brown turned in a 23-point performance on 10-23 shooting. 15 of these points came in the second half. Reynolds provided this scoring punch off the bench, needing only 21 minutes and nine shots to get it done.

Early runs from both teams in the first half established the tone at Rose Hill Gym. The Knights used a 7-0 run, bookended by a Reynolds dunk, to grab an 18-14 lead at the 10:31 mark. The Rams immediately answered with a 7-0 run of their own to retake a 21-18 lead a little over two minutes later. After FDU climbed ahead 22-21, Fordham went on a 9-0 run to build a 30-22 advantage. The Knights were never able to tie it or take the lead, again.

The Rams took a 44-34 lead into the halftime break.

FDU began to chip away in the second half with good shooting when they retook the floor. Trailing by eight, Dylan Jones hit his second three of the half to make the score 60-55. Jack Castleberry called a timeout, and the Knights forced a turnover on the ensuing inbound. Brown scooped up the loose ball and finished at the rim to cut the lead to three.

This momentum proved to be short-lived as the Rams responded with an 11-0 spurt to grow their lead to 14. FDU would cut into the lead late in the second half, but fell short in completing the comeback.
