DAYTONA, F.L.- The FDU men's golf team finished 5
th at the Sacred Heart Invitational in an event that wrapped up Friday afternoon. The Knights shot a total score of 585 at LPGA International, finishing just 12 shots behind the tournament champions, Purdue Fort Wayne.
Jaime Julve was the Knights' top finisher with his score of 142 over the two rounds. This was good enough to tie for 7
th place.
Pyae Phyo Thu followed him up with a score of 144 that tied him for 12
th place.
Leon Heitz finished tied for 23
rd with a score of 143.
FDU was the best scoring team on the course's par 3's, averaging a score of 3.13 on those holes over the two rounds. They also tied for first in made pars with 109 at LPGA International.
Jaime Julve was the second-best player on par 3's in the week.
Leon Heitz was the second-best player in the field on par 5's.
The Knights head to the Carpetbagger Classic in Urbana, M.D. on March 18.
