ANNAPOLIS, MD. -Freshman Justas Trainauskas scored a singles victory over Navy's Finn Garner, but it was not enough as the Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team (3-3, 0-0 NEC) came up short on Sunday morning, falling to the Midshipmen (10-3, 0-0 Patriot) by a final score of 1-6 at the Brigade Tennis Complex.  

The match began with doubles play. At the No. 3 spot, the duo of Luke Garner and Sasha Panyan topped junior Taiga Koyama and freshman Fernando Tardin, 6-3. At the No. 1, Finn Garner and Gavin Segraves defeated Trainauskas and redshirt senior Niclas Pietsch, 6-3, to secure the doubles point for the Navy. 

In singles play, the Midshipmen won five of six matches. Segraves picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory over graduate student Moric Budinszky at the No. 2 spot before sophomore Aryan Manchanda dropped his matchup against Luke Garger, 6-2, 6-1, in the No. 5 spot. Jack Dabek closed out the Navy's victory with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Tardin at No. 4. The match continued with Pietsch at No. 6 losing the battle against Sam Vagner, 6-0, 7-5. In a closely contested match, Trainauskas got the win at the No. 1 spot against F. Garner, 6-4, 3-6, (7). To conclude, sophomore Arjun Sriram came up short against Jake Fishkin, 7-6 (5), 6-2. 

Up next, the Knights will head to Little Silver, N.J. for a non-conference match with Monmouth Wednesday at the Little Silver Tennis Club at 9:00 p.m.
