HACKENSACK, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson Athletics is prepared to host its fourth FDYS Awards, which celebrates the accomplishments of student-athletes from the 2020-21 academic year. The various awards will be announced through Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram from May 31-June 4.
15 FDU teams will have a Team Knight and MVP Award named throughout the week. In addition, the FDU Athletics Department will also hand out 11 major awards ranging from individual players to teams.
Team MVP Award – Issued to the Knight who led their team throughout the year
Team Knight Award – Issued to the Knight who demonstrates the spirit of what it takes to be an FDU Knights, a hard worker, a leader, devoted teammate, and dedicated member of the community
Iron Knight Award – Awarded to the team and a male and female player of high character and demonstrate strong leadership during their time with the strength and conditioning staff
Best Comeback Performance – Presented to the team that came back from behind and won the game
Braun Leadership Award – Issued to the FDU student-athlete that best exemplify the competitiveness in the classroom and excellence on the field as well the ideal model for school spirit
Panicucci Service Award – Awarded to the student-athlete with the highest number of community service hours accumulated
Best Play/Performance – Presented to the best play/performance from the 2020-21 year
Mary Kay Stratis Award – Issued to the senior female student-athlete with the highest GPA
Robert Metz Award – Awarded to the senior male student-athlete with the highest GPA
Highest Team GPA Award – Presented to the team with the highest GPA
Athletic Director Award – Presented to an individual that exemplifies the values of the Knights athletic department
Walter Marusyn Male Athlete of the Year – Issued to the most outstanding male athlete of the year
Harriet McCormick Female Athlete of the Year – Awarded to the most outstanding female athlete of the year
