HACKENSACK, N.J. - Director of Golf
Rob Warren and the Fairleigh Dickinson men's golf team announced the signing of Saum Sabetian to a National Letter of Intent (NLI).
Sabetian is expected to join the Knights beginning in the 2022-23 season.
Saum Sabetian arrives "on the Hackensack" from Medina, Washington where he was a four year varsity letter winner at Bellevue High School. Sabetian was named a First Team All-KingCo selection in 2021, placing third at the WJGA Districts in the process.
"Saum is a model of consistency and I expect him to be a steady foundational player for us," said Warren. "He's been ranked as high as 180 in the junior golf scoreboard rankings and has dealt with both the highs and lows of the game."
As a two year varsity captain, he also claimed a team state championship in 2019 while placing 10th individually in the same event. Sabetian has achieved multiple top-20 finishes in AJGA events to cap off his high school career.
"Given his success and ability to battle adversity he could end up being a hidden gem," added Warren. "We're excited to welcome Saum to our family. "
The Knights will resume their spring season on February 11 at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational.
