Jason Young Named Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs

HACKENSACK, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson Director of Athletics Bradford D. Hurlbut announced the appointment of Jason Young as Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs on Wednesday afternoon. Young will join the Knights in his new role effective June 10.

"Jason Young is going to be a tremendous addition to our department," Hurlbut said. "His skill set, work ethic and experience make him a great fit for our FDU family. I am excited to have Jason on board and I believe that he will have a great impact on our department's marketing and ticketing efforts."

Since 2016, Young has served as the Director of Ticket Operations for the University of Vermont's athletic department, overseeing all aspects of the department's ticketing operations, including sales and management as well as development of marketing and ticketing campaigns for all sports and fan engagement.

"I'm really excited to be a part of the Knight family," said Young. "I'd like to thank Brad Hurlbut as well as the rest of the search committee for providing me with this incredible opportunity. I can't wait to meet everyone in the FDU community and work together to continue to elevate FDU athletics."

Young joined Vermont in 2015 as the Coordinator of Business Development for Vermont Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Sports. In that role he managed sponsorship agreements for all of Vermont Athletics' corporate partners and was responsible for developing customized sponsorship proposals and annual recaps.

Prior to joining the Catamounts, Young lived in Texas and was an assistant coach for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA Development League during the 2014-15 season. He was also a coaching intern with the franchise during the previous season and worked with five eventual NBA players while providing scouting information and video analysis.

Young spent one year at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina, serving as an assistant men's basketball coach and interning with the Athletic Academic Services unit. He was then promoted to Assistant Director of Athletic Operations at Newberry in July of 2013. Young was also a Varsity Sports Operations intern at Yale University in 2010.

A New York City native, Young graduated Cum Laude from Ithaca College in 2012. He then earned a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in sports business from Saint Leo University in 2015.
