WEST WINDSOR, N.J. -- The top-seeded Bulldogs of Bryant ended the Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team season on Saturday afternoon 4-0 in the NEC semifinals. With the loss, the Knights end its season at 5-15 (2-3).
In doubles, the Bulldogs tallied the doubles point by clinching two wins. Both FDU duos of Adam Chan and Moric Budinskzy, as well as Andris Gudins and Miki Nobuzawa took a 6-0 defeat.
In No. 1 singles, Gudins showed a gritty performance, competing with Matt Kuhar of Bryant. Gudins suffered a loss in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
In No. 4 singles, The Burgundy and Blue sent out Nobuzawa to try and win its first match of the day for the team, however JE Ortiz-Garcia prevented that from happening, sealing a 6-2, 6-2 win.
On the season, the Knights were led by Niclas Pietsch who paced the team with 15 wins in singles, followed by Autuch who finished second with 13 wins.
William Bourne registered 12 wins in singles, while Gudins finished the season with 11 wins in singles.
No. 1 Bryant advances to the Championship round where they will meet up with No. 2 Wagner.
