PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team dropped a contest at Drexel on Tuesday afternoon 7-0.
In No. 4 singles, Maciej Autuch fell in a close three-setter to Sinan Orhon. Orhon took the first set 6-4, while Autuch responded by taking the second set 6-3. Though it was not enough, Orhon squeaked out the victory in an exciting 7-6 third set, defeating Autuch 6-4, 3-6, 7-6.
In No. 1 singles, Niclas Pietsch lost in straight sets to Drexel's Hamza Laleej. Laleej edged out Pietsch in in the second set to win 6-6, 7-6 (5). Moric Budinszky battled in defeat, falling to Sanil Jagtiani in a back-and-forth match 7-6 (2), 6-4.
In doubles, the Dragons won all three matches to obtain the doubles point. In No. 2 doubles, the duo of Adam Chan and Andris Gudins came close, though ultimately falling to Jagtiani and Lakshmanan 6-4.
The Knights will have its first home match of the season on Thursday, competing against the Peacocks of Saint Peter's at 3:00 p.m.
