ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team concluded play down in Florida on Wednesday afternoon, dropping its finale to the Golden Eagles of Southern Mississippi, 7-0.
In No. 1 singles, Niclas Pietsch was defeated by Tom Cecchetto in straight sets. Despite the loss, Pietsch looked good rallying and made both sets close 6-4, 6-4.
In No. 3 singles, Andris Gudins matched up with Wen-Po Tseng, and Tseng tallied the victory for the Golden Eagles, defeating Gudins 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles, both duos were defeated by a score of 6-2. Moric Budinszky and Pietsch dropped their match to Merker and Reyes, while Adam Chan and Gudins were topped by Tseng and Tsai of Southern Mississippi.
The Knights will head back home with a victory, defeating Howard 6-1 on Monday, and be in action on March 21, as FDU will host Saint Peter's in its home debut at 3:00 p.m.
