SOMERSET, N.J. - Freshman
Diego Arribas and redshirt junior
Ahu Obhakhan were named the NEC Rookie of the Week and NEC Player of the Week, respectively, for their efforts in the FDU men's soccer team's 3-2 overtime victory against Bucknell on Wednesday evening, the conference announced Monday.
Obhakhan scored the opening goal of the evening for FDU Wednesday night, the first of what would eventually become three consecutive unanswered goals for the Knights in their come-from-behind win. Obhakhan also assisted on the overtime game-winner from
Fredinho Mompremier that erased a 2-0 deficit and secured the victory for FDU.
Arribas also enjoyed a breakout performance in the win. Despite coming off the bench and playing just 33 total minutes, Arribas assisted on all three Knights tallies in the victory and also recorded one shot on goal.
The Knights currently sit at 6-2-1 and begin conference play this Friday when they travel to Smithfield, Rhode Island for a clash with Bryant Friday afternoon.
