Orlando, Fla. – The Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis fell short to Bucknell 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon.
In doubles, the Knights were unable to score a win. At the number one sot,
Jacob Whalley (Wirral, England/Calday Grange Grammar School) and
Gonzalo Quintana (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Colegio Particular Pert) fell 6-3. At number 2, Chan and Garnel came up just short, 7-6(4). Mani and Bourne could not overcome their opponent and lost 6-3.
In singles action, Quintana and
Diogo Garnel (Lisbon, Portugal/Carcavelos Tenis) were the only players to pick up victories on the Knights' behalf. Quintana came out on top by the scores of 5-7, 6-4, 6-0. By 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, Garnel also came out successful against his opponent after going down 4-0 in the third set.
The Knights see their season at 1-4 with a match on Thursday against the Bobcats of Quinnipiac.
