STAMFORD, Conn. - The Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team defeated Fairfield University on Friday night at the Solaris Club in Stamford, Connecticut.  The Knights won the match 5-2 by capturing all three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches.

FDU's Arvis Berzins (Adazi, Latvia/Riga Language School) and Gonzalo Quitana won first singles, 6-4, and Adam Chan (Hillingdon, England/ Langley Grammar School ) and Jacob Whalley ( Wirral, England/Calday Grange Grammar School) won second doubles, 6-3, to capture the doubles points.  Diogo Garnel (Lisbon, Portugal/Carcavelos Tenis) and Arnaud Velentin completed the sweep, 7-5, in the third doubles match.

Berzins continued his success by defeating Ofir Solomon in first singles, 6-2, 6-3.  Whalley added a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the number two spot and Chan won in third singles, 6-2, 6-1, with Quintana taking the number four singles match, 6-1, 6-1, to win the match.

The Knights will return to action on Feb. 28 at Lehigh.
