SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team fell on the road to Northeast Conference favorite Bryant, 4-1, on Saturday at the Bryant Tennis Complex. With the victory, the Bulldogs improve to 12-10 (2-0 NEC) on the season, while the Knights fall to 1-8 (1-1 NEC) overall.

The home team won two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point and take an early 1-0 lead, as FDU lost in a hard-fought tiebreaker at the No. 1 slot, 8-7 (4). In singles, Bryant won at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 to clinch the victory. Freshman Jacob Whalley ( Wirral, England/Calday Grange Grammar School) was the lone Knight to record a win, as he won at No. 2 over Zachary Morris, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (4).

FDU will return to the courts on Wednesday, April 9 when it hosts Saint Peter's for a 3:30 p.m. contest at the FDU Tennis Center.
