HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team will begin its 33rd season of Northeast Conference play when it welcomes Mount St. Mary's to Stratis Arena on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The contest will be broadcast live on NEC Front Row.

Last Time Out
The Knights ended a four-game losing streak in a big way when they blitzed Hofstra, 86-67, on Sunday at Stratis Arena. FDU knocked down a season-high 14 three pointers (on 27 attempts), the most in a game for the Knights since Jan. 4, 2004 when they defeated Army at home, 57-48.

Five players scored in double-figures for FDU, the first time such a feat has occurred since Nov. 29, 2010 when the Knights won at Longwood, 83-78. Senior Sidney Sanders Jr. (Charleston, S.C./Burke) led the way with a career-high 31 points and dished out seven assists (all on made three pointers). For the second time this season, he was named the Choice Hotels/NEC Player of the Week and the Corvias ECAC Division I – Metro/Upstate Player of the Week.

Freshman Matt MacDonald (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) netted 13 points (4-of-7 from three) and added a game high three steals, while junior Mustafaa Jones (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) added 12 points on four three's. Senior Mathias Seilund (Dragoer, Denmark/Falkonergaardens Gymnasium) chipped in 10 points (2-of-2 from three) and game-high eight rebounds, which tied a career best, while freshman Scott Kingsley (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita of Cascia) tallied a career-high 10 points after making 2-of-3 three's.

FDU shot over 50 percent for the third time this season, finishing the contest at 52.9 percent (27-of-51). The Knights also took care of the basketball, as they tied a season low in turnovers with eight. Defensively, FDU improved to 3-1 on the season when limiting its opponent to fewer than 40 percent shooting, with Hofstra shooting only 38.8 percent (19-of-49).
