M. Basketball Set to Host St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team (6-12, 2-2 NEC) will look to bounce back on Thursday night when it welcomes St. Francis Brooklyn (12-7, 3-1 NEC) to Stratis Arena for a Northeast Conference contest. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on NEC Front Row.

Last Time Out
The Knights were soundly defeated by Bryant, 95-68, last Saturday (Jan. 18) at Stratis Arena. The Bulldogs shot nearly 60 percent from the field and held a 21-point lead at halftime. FDU started the second half on a 20-6 run to trim the deficit to seven with 12 minutes remaining but could not get closer. Senior Sidney Sanders Jr. (Charleston, S.C./Burke) led the Knights with 21 points and five assists, while fellow classmate Mathias Seilund (Dragoer, Denmark/Falkonergaardens Gymnasium) added 15 points and tied a career high in rebounds with eight.

What You Need To Know: The Terriers, who were picked in the middle of the pack in the NEC, constructed a very successful nonconference campaign, which included victories at Miami, Florida Atlantic, Oakland and Stony Brook. St. Francis also went toe-to-toe at No. 9 Syracuse before falling, 56-50. The Terriers have wins over LIU Brooklyn, Central Connecticut State and Sacred Heart in conference play, with their only loss coming at Mount St. Mary's.  Preseason All-NEC selection Jalen Cannon is St. Francis Brooklyn's leading scorer (15.9 ppg) and rebounder (8.4 rpg). Ben Mockford adds 11.5 points per game, and Brent Jones is one of the conference's top point guards, averaging 5.3 per game to go along with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.89.
