After another dominating performance on Tuesday, the Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team, riding its longest winning streak since 2003, will look for its seventh straight win on Saturday, April 7, with a match against Northeast Conference opponent Bryant at 1 p.m. at the FDU Tennis Center in Teaneck, NJ.
For the Knights (10-7, 2-0 NEC), it will be the final regular season home match for seniors
Marco Jemersic (Zagreb, Croatia/X Gimnazija Ivan Supek) and
Dominic Hemy (Suffolk, England/Ipswich School).
Their last time out against Saint Peter's, Hemy and Jemersic teamed up for a No. 2 doubles win as part of FDU's 7-0 win over the Peacocks. The Knights won all of the doubles and singles matches on the day including wins from reigning NEC Player of the Week
Mark Hemy (Suffolk, England/Ipswich School) at No. 4 singles and three-time NEC Rookie of the Week
Arvis Berzins (Adazi, Latvia/Riga Language School) at No. 1. Berzins leads the NEC with 10 No. 1 singles wins this season.
The Hemy brothers have been steady in singles as both have won their last five matches. In doubles, Berzins and junior
Ibrahim Shams (Cairo, Egypt/Manor House) have put together eight-straight No. 1 doubles victories.
Bryant (11-4, 3-0 NEC) enter Saturday on a hot streak with nine wins in a row. The Bulldogs last loss was back on Feb. 5 versus Binghamton. Since then, the team has taken down the likes of Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac, Monmouth and most recently, Connecticut on April 3.
Bryant's singles players boast records that rank among the best in the conference this season. At No. 1, Zachary Morris is tied for second with eight wins, while Juan Gonzales-Paz (No. 5) and Richard Sipala (No. 6) lead their respective flights in wins.
FDU will play its NEC finale on Wednesday, April 11, at Monmouth in West Lawn Branch, NJ at 3 p.m.
