Four Knights Earn National Tenpins Coaches Association All-America Honors

On the eve of the 2010 NCAA Women's Bowling Tournament, four Knights were honored with National Tenpins Coaches Association (NTCA) All-America Honors at the banquet, held at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, NJ: senior Erica Perez (Carteret, New Jersey/Carteret), junior Sara Litteral (Chesterfield, MI/L'anse Creuse North), sophomore Joely Carrillo (Clifton, NJ/Paramus Catholic) and freshman Danielle McEwan (Stony Point, NY/Stony Point).

Northeast Conference Player of the Year Perez made it four-straight years with All-America honors, taking home Second Team acclaim. Perez earned Second Team as a freshman, Third Team as a sophomore and First Team as a junior. Litteral, who earned Third Team honors in 2008-09 and Honorable Mention accolades in 2007-08, earned a spot on the Third Team. NEC Rookie of the Year McEwan earned a spot on the Honorable Mention team, along with Carrillo.

The Knights, who will begin competition in the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, April 8, are making their sixth appearance, holding a 12-8 record (.600) in NCAA Tournament matches. The Knights have missed only one year of the tournament since its inception, reaching the final four in 2004 (fourth), 2005 (third), 2006 (champions), 2007 (tied for third) and 2009 (tied for third).
