Sophomore Caitlin Bradac (Garden Grove, CA/Garden Grove) and freshman Mikayla Fernandez (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) were named to the UMBC Retriever Classic All-Tournament Team, announced on Monday, March 8.
Fernandez led all newcomers for the Knights at the UMBC Retriever Classic, posting a .417 batting average. She started all four games over the weekend, picking up two doubles and knocking in six runs. She had a .583 slugging percentage and .533 on-base percentage.
In the first game against Morgan State on Sunday, Fernandez was 2-for-3 with four RBI to lead FDU to a 9-1 win. Fernandez was 2-for-3 and pushed two runs across the plate in the loss to Brown on Saturday morning.
Bradac smacked her first home run as a Knight over the fences in FDU's 9-1 win against Morgan State on Sunday morning. She also fanned a career-high 14 batters to pick up a win in the afternoon game versus the Bears, walking only one.
