The Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis
team was defeated by Dartmouth on Sunday, 7-0, in Hanover, NH. The Knights fall to 4-7 in dual matches on
the season.
Sophomore Dom Hemy lost in number
one singles, 6-2, 6-3, to Dan Freeman. Freshman Peter Skvarka (Banska Bystrica, Slovakia/Gymnazium J.G. Tajovskeho) lost to
Michael Laser in number two singles, 7-5, 6-1. Freshman Sven Sjoerds (Gendt, Netherlands/Over Betuwe College Bemmel) lost
in number three singles to Stephen Greif, 6-2, 6-3. In number four
singles, freshman Mark Hemy (Suffolk, England/Ipswich School) was defeated by Curtis Roby, 6-4, 6-0.
Freshman Ted Segerfors (Stockholm, Sweden/Ostra Reals Gynasium) lost to Xander Centenari in number five singles, 6-2,
6-0. Sophomore Andrew Denny (Bingley, England/Bradford Grammar) lost in number six singles to Chris Ho, 6-0,
6-2.
In number one doubles action, Skvarka
and sophomore Marco Jemersic (Zagreb, Croatia/X Gimnazija Ivan Supek) lost, 8-6, to Greif and Roby. The tandem of
Sjoerds and Segerfors lost, 8-3, in number two doubles to Freeman and Laser.
Denny and freshman Goren Guy Eliav (Hod Hasharon, Israel/Rothberg) lost in number three doubles to Ho and
Alex de Chatellus, 8-4.
The Knights return to action on
Monday, March 15, in Orlando, FL as they play the first of three dual matches
on their spring break trip. The Knights
will take on Jacksonville at 6:30 p.m.
On the 16th, the squad will play South Carolina State at 12:30
p.m. The Knights will then play Indiana
on the 17th at 6:30 p.m.
