The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team (3-4) will be looking to get back to its winning ways as they hit the road for the second of four-straight non-conference games on Saturday, Dec. 11, as they travel across the Hudson River to New Rochelle, NY to take on Iona at 2:00 p.m. in the Hynes Center.
FDU is coming off a 78-54 defeat Wednesday night at sixth-ranked Connecticut. Senior Kamil Svrdlik (Prerov, Czech Republic/Gymnazium Zlin) scored at least 20 points for the third-straight game as he led the Knights with 21 points. He is averaging 21.7 ppg over the three-game stretch.
Iona (6-3) comes into the game riding a six-game win streak after starting out the season 0-3. Last time out, the Gaels defeated Northeast Conference foe Long Island, 88-82, in Brooklyn, NY.
After playing Iona, the Knights will continue their road trip by traveling to Piscataway, NJ to take on Rutgers on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
The Series Versus Iona: The Knights and the Gaels will be meeting for the 27th time. Iona holds a 15-11 advantage in the series and has won three-straight, including an 82-60 victory last Dec. 23 in Hackensack. The last FDU victory came on Jan. 12, 1988 in Madison Square Garden. The Knights escaped with a 76-75 victory. FDU is 5-8 all-time in games played in New Rochelle.
