The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's fencing team opened the season at the Temple Open, which saw its largest entry ever, in Philadelphia, PA. The Knights opened the season strong with a good showing at the Open.
In foil, freshman Ginny Siskidis (/) made it into the top 32, finishing 27th. Classmate Julia Silva (Garfield, NJ/Immaculate Conception High School) and sophomore Audrey Prado (Jersey City, NJ/St. Dominic Academy) competed in foil as well.
Freshman Christina Forsythe competed in epee, placing 11th for the day, while sophomore Annie Kazarian placed 14th.
Sophomore Heather Morrill (Pawtucket, RI/Bishop Feehan) placed 32nd in sabre, and freshman Genele Streitz (Mendham, NJ/West Morris Mendham High School) took 29th. Freshman Sophia Bischof (Bonn, Germany/Albert Einstein Gymnasium) was a finalist, ending up in fifth place in her first day out fo the Knights.
The Knights are back in action on Thursday Nov. 12 at New York University.
