The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's tennis team lost to home-standing Cornell University, 7-0, Saturday, Feb. 24 in Ithaca, NY.
Freshman Phillip Stephens (London, England) fell, 6-3, 6-2, to Rory Heggie in No. 1 Singles while freshman Kyle Eddins (Tampa, FL/Saddlebrook Prep) (Tampa, FL) was downed, 7-5, 6-3, by Weston Nichols in fifth-singles.
Stephens paired with Alexander Nace (San Jose, Costa Rica/Country Day School) (San Jose, Costa Rica) in No. 1 Doubles, but were defeated, 8-6, by the duo of Joshua Goldstein and Kyle Doppelt.
“Cornell is a regionally-ranked team that's tough when on the road,” Head Coach Ira Miller said. “Hats off to them ? they played a good match. We will press on and keeping doing what we're doing.”
The Knights travel to Newark, NJ to take on NJIT at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3.
