FDU INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL RULES
* DUNKING IS PROHIBITED. If any one dunks, they will be ejected from the gym and will no longer be able to play in the Intramural League. Failure to adhere to this rule will ALSO result in a semester long suspension from the fitness center.
* Length of Game: Games will consist of two-20 minute halves. In the first half, the clock will NOT stop at all. The clock will only stop on dead balls in the last minute of the second half. There will be a three-minute break in between halves (as long as the game started on time).
* Overtime: If the score is tied after regulation, there will be a three (3) minute overtime period. The clock will only stop on dead balls in the last 30 seconds of overtime. There will be a :30 second break in between OT's.
* Timeouts: Each team will get two (2) timeouts per half (non-transferable). An additional timeout will be awarded per overtime.
* Fouls: Five personal fouls are allowed to each player.
Seven team fouls = 1 and 1
Ten team fouls = 2 shots
* Technical Fouls: One technical and the player may be ejected. Director will determine the severity of the situation.
***FIGHTING WILL CAUSE AN END TO THE INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL SEASON AND THE MATTER WILL BE SENT TO THE DEAN OF STUDENTS***
Technical Fouls include:
a - Dunking
b - Abusive language to the referees
c - Trash Talking
d - Flagrant Fouls
***A Second technical foul in the season will warrant a suspension***
* Trash Talking will not be tolerated. A Technical Foul will be issued and a second will result in ban from league.
* Flagrant Fouls will cause an immediate ban from the Intramural league.
* Free Throws: Players shoot two free throws when a foul is committed in the act of shooting or if there is a team foul limit. Otherwise, the ball is put in-play from the sideline.
* Start of Game: Monday-Wednesday at 8:10pm, 9:00pm, 10:00pm and Friday at 3:00pm, 4:00pm, 5:00pm, 6:00pm
* Forfeit Rules
1) At Game-time, the game clock will start.
2) The team there will get 2 points for every minute the other team is not here.
3) If game clock gets to 15:00 minutes remaining (10 Points), the team will forfeit.
* Substitutions: Substitutes may enter when there is a dead ball. The referee must call the player in after he/she reports to the scorer's table.
* If there are school snow days, games may still be played. Call the FC (x2697) after 2pm.
* If there is any reason in which games are cancelled, they will not be made up!
* Each player must sign the "No Tolerance Policy" prior to playing.
INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL "NO TOLERANCE" POLICY
- If there is any cursing, complaining about the refereeing, trash-talking or any other obnoxious behavior, you will be given an immediate "Technical" Foul.
- If you receive a second "Technical" Foul you will be ejected from the league and be banned from the Fitness Center during Intramural games.
- NOTE: You may also face a semester ban from the Fitness Center and additional punishment from the Office of the Dean.

INTRAMURAL DIRECTOR CLAUSE:
The Director has the right to remove any player, from the game or league, at any time, for causing a problem (i.e. rough play, arguing with the refs or crowd, and excessive cursing). This also applies to the friends and fans that come with each team. If they become a problem, they will have to leave the Fitness Center and may face additional penalties with the Dean of Students.
