The Rothman Center is available for rent for community, cultural, and trade show purposes. In order for us to understand the scope of your event, we will need the following information:

A proposal detailing everything about your event including:
- when you will move in
- when vendors will arrive to move in
- what time frame will the vendors have to move in
- when will the show open to the public
- what are the hours of the show
- when will the show end
- what time frame will the vendors have to move out
- when you will move out
- what kind of set-up you will have, i.e. any signs, posters, etc.
- preliminary floor lay-out
- List of three references from other facilities that you have held events at including name of facility, contact person and phone number
- List of proposed dates which work within the available pool of dates of the Rothman Center

Once these items are received, they will be forwarded to the Director of the Rothman Center who will review them and then make a decision if the event is something that we will be able to accommodate.

You will be notified of acceptance or decline of your event. If your event is accepted, you will be asked for your choice of date that works within our calendar.

You will be issued a contract that will need to be returned by a certain date, usually 15 days after the contract is drawn up. When you have reviewed and signed the contract, it will need to be returned to us within those 15 days along with a 20 % deposit bank check. If we do not receive the deposit and the contract within 15 days, your dates will not be held and they will be released as available for any other events interested in them.

Within 30 days of signing the contract, you must provide us with a certificate of insurance naming Fairleigh Dickinson University/Rothman Center as additional insured. This certificate must be for a minimum of $2,000,000.00 in coverage.

Two months before your event, you must contact David Miles at University Public Safety and arrange for a Public Safety Officer to cover your event during show hours only. David Miles can be reached at (201) 692-2227.

Ten days before your event, you must provide us with the following items- the 80% balance bank check, a Fire Permit from Hackensack Fire Department (201) 646-7685, and a final floor plan.

You will be contacted three days before your event to go over last minute details as well as to let you know who your event day Facility Manager will be.

The Rothman Center does not book shows during December, January and February because of University obligations for Home Athletic Contests, practices, and Athletic Team Fund-Raisers.

The Rothman Center suspends booking for the following year for the months of November and March until the basketball games schedules/TV schedules are finalized. Once those schedules are final, and dates are available, they are then released for rental purposes.
