SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The Fairleigh Dickinson University baseball team fell at Seton Hall University, 8-3, on Wednesday, April 26. The Knights (8-28, 5-10 NEC) notched eight hits against their Big East host.

The Pirates took an early lead, dropping a four-spot on the board in the bottom half of the first inning.

FDU countered when freshman designated hitter Bryan Greer led off the second inning, roping a double into the gap in left field. Greer advanced to third on a liner to left by sophomore shortstop Jovan Santos and later scored on a muffed pick-off attempt to make it a 4-1 contest.

In the third, senior right fielder Matt Born knocked a two-bagger down the right field line, advancing junior centerfielder Chris Grabowski to third. The Knights drew within two, 4-2, when the duo moved up 90 feet via a balk.

Trailing 6-2, Grabowski started off the fifth by stretching a base knock down the left field line into a double. After advancing on a passed ball, Fairleigh Dickinson's lead-off man scored on a groundout by Born, cutting the deficit to 6-3.

Sophomore right-hander Tim Bonham suffered the loss in his second start of the season, working 3.2 innings.

The Knights host Central Connecticut State University at noon for a Northeast Conference doubleheader on Saturday, April 29.
