Stewart Pruzansky was a three-time Metropolitan Champion as he won at 123 lbs. in 1969, 126 lbs. in 1970 and 134 lbs. in 1971, en route to setting the record for most points by an individual at the Met Championships.  A tenacious competitor, Pruzansky compiled a dual meet record of 76-0 competing between the 120 to 145 pound weight classes always taking on the opponent’s best wrestler. He captured titles at the C.W. Post, Wilkes and East Stroudsberg tournaments and was a four-time New Jersey AAU Greco and Freestyle Champion. Winner of two gold medals (wrestling and judo) at the Maccabiah Games in Israel, Pruzansky was a New York State freestyle champion and finished second at the National AAU Championships. An Olympic Team qualifier in 1972, he is an inductee to the New Jersey Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame.
