The 1983 Men’s Soccer Team, coached by 2005 Hall of Fame inductee Ben Stravato, posted the program’s best record ever at 21-3-0, advancing to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals. Along the way the Knights compiled a 13-game winning streak, including victories over Fresno State, Tennessee, Penn State and Boston University during the regular season. They defeated Philadelphia Textile (3-2) and Rutgers (2-1) in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, before falling 1-0 to Columbia. The team finished the year ranked six in the nation.
