Hall of Fame Induction Speech - 1/31/20

Everlyne Cheptoo's FDU legacy lives on in the track and field record books. The 2003 FDU Female Athlete of the Year still holds the school record in the 5,000-meter with a time of 17:14.77 (2002) and the FDU mark in the 10,000-meter 36:30.56 (2002). Cheptoo is a four-time NEC Champion, winning the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter races in both 2002 and 2003. In addition, Cheptoo garnered the NEC Most Outstanding Indoor Performer Award both years and was named the conference's Most Outstanding Outdoor Athlete in 2003.
