Fairleigh Dickinson University softball player Madelaine Wilen was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, announced by the league on Monday, March 25. The weekly award is Wilen’s first of the season.

Wilen averaged .385 at the plate this past weekend, while the Knights went 2-2 to begin conference action. The Bakersfield, Calif. native recorded at least one hit in all four games, including two doubles in the Knights' 7-4 win over Monmouth.She had five hits in 13 at bats with one walk and two stolen bases.

The catcher also recorded three RBI on the weekend with an on base percentage of .429 and a slugging percentage of .538.
