For the second time this season, Fairleigh Dickinson freshman Darrel Gooding has been named Northeast Conference Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

On Saturday, Gooding took home fifth place overall out of 94 competitors at the Ted Owen Invitational in New Britain, Conn. with a time of 26:02.55. He posted the top time among FDU runners and was the first NEC runner to cross the finish line in the race.

Gooding also earned NEC Rookie of the Week honors after finishing seventh overall at the Bryant Invite on Sept. 8.
