Freshman Shane Siebler was named NEC Rookie of the Week for his performance last weekend. One of 16 freshmen on FDU's Opening Day roster, Siebler wasted no time making an impact on his new team. The rookie outfielder batted .538 (7-for-13) and slugged .769 over his first three collegiate contests. The right-handed hitting Siebler belted a two-bagger in each of the Knights' three games this past weekend. He opened his career by going 4-for-4 with a sacrifice, two RBI, and one run scored during an 8-7 setback to Lehigh on Feb. 25. Helping his team bounce back and beat Lehigh the following day, Siebler doubled and came around to score the Knights’ first run in the third inning of an eventual 6-3 triumph. He logged his second career multi-hit game in a 7-3 loss to Davidson on Feb. 26, going 2-for-5 with a double. Displaying discipline at the plate, Siebler struck out only one time in his first 14 career plate appearances.
