Men's Tennis Drops Close Match to Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team fell to the Pride of Hofstra on Saturday night, 5-2.

RESULTS

At No. 5 singles, Miki Nobuzawa defeated his opponent David Schrott 8-3, to garner the first victory on the day for FDU. William Bourne picked right up where he left off from after going undefeated in singles play at the NJIT Winter Invitational, Bourne captured another victory by beating Hofstra's Nick Silvestri 8-6.

In No. 1 doubles, the Knights duo of Niclas Pietsch and Moric Budinszky were victorious in their match 6-4, against the Pride's Niko Vulinovich and Coco Haener. Despite the win, Hofstra took the next two doubles matches to gain the doubles point.

In No. 2 singles, Pietsch took the first set from Jan Leithner but could not gain enough momentum to walk away with a victory. Youssef Sader squared off against Coco Haener, with Haener grabbing the upper hand in a close match 7-5, 6-2.
