HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The first day of the 2017 outdoor season and the Bob Davidson for the Fairleigh Dickinson men's track and field team saw three top 10 finishes -- two in the javelin and one in the shot put.
Mark Ramsey finished second in the shot put after throwing to a mark of 17.92m. The mark is the senior's second furest mark as Knight. The Paterson, New Jersey native was 0.83 behind first and over 1.5 ahead third place.
The two finishes in the javelin were
Rashaun Graves in eighth and Steve Krier in ninth. Graves threw the javelin 53.11m and Krier posted a 50.95m.
Dayron Brown and
Amos Kipchirchir competed for the Knights in the 5000m to close the day on Friday. Brown crossed the line in 16:47.31, which put him in 20th and Kipchirchir was right behind in 21st in a time of 16:55.42.
A trio of Knights competed in the 1500m on Friday.
Noah Rotich was the top finisher for the Knights in 29th in a time of 4:19.51.
Abdallah Hammad crossed line in 4:29.63 to finish 32nd.
Joshua Utate was right behind in 33rd.
The second and final day of competition in High Point is tomorrow, Saturday, at 12 p.m. on the track and at 9 a.m. for the field events.
