Complete NEC Release

SOMERSET, N.J. – The Northeast Conference announced the 2016-17 men's indoor track and field preseason poll and the Fairleigh Dickinson men were picked to finish fifth by the league's head coaches.

The fifth-place selection is a two place move up from the poll last season. At last season's NEC Indoor Championships, the Knights finished in fourth place with 81.5 points.

LIU Brooklyn collected seven first-place votes to earn the top spot in the nine-team poll. Central Connecticut and Sacred Heart each collected a first-place vote and were picked second and third respectively.

Saint Francis U is one spot ahead of Fairleigh Dickinson in fourth. Mount St. Mary's, Wagner, Bryant and St. Francis Brooklyn round out the poll.

The Knights are in the midst of a break from competition with finals and the holiday coming up. Fairleigh Dickinson returns to action on January 6 for the Wagner College Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Track Facility on Staten Island.
