Women's Soccer Adds Five for 2015 Season


HACKENSACK, N.J. – Head coach Eric Teepe and the Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer program announce the signings of five new student-athletes for 2015.

"We are excited to bring in the next chapter of players to FDU. We feel that this class will have not only have an impact on our 2015 season, but they will leave a lasting mark over the next four years", said Teepe.

Elma Kolenovic, who is from Manhattan, New York, comes to Fairleigh Dickinson after attending NYC Lab High School. There Kolenovic helped NYC Lab to a B division championship as a sophomore and final four appearances as a junior and a senior. As senior Kolenvic was named a captain and took part in the Mayors Cup. In 2013, Kolenovic was invited to the U19 Montenegro National team camp. Haris, her older brother, plays soccer at St. John's.

"Elma will have an immediate impact in both our attack out of the midfield and up top. She brings a different style of play to the attack, which will help our rotation. She will be an attacking force us in and around the box", said Teepe.

Hannah Robertson of Eagle Mountain, Utah arrives at Fairleigh Dickinson after a four-year varsity career at West Lake High School. Robertson was named a 5A First Team All-State at forward, Utah All-Valley and Utah All-Region performer as a junior. Robertson was an Academic All-State selection as a senior. Robertson also lettered twice in track and field at West Lake.

Teepe continued, "Hannah is a competitive player who can help us in a variety of roles."

Kristina Neri from San Jose, California comes to Fairleigh Dickinson by way of St. Peter's University and Santa Teresa High School. At St. Peter's, Neri started all 19 games as a freshman and was third on the team in points with four. In high school, Neri was a four-year varsity player and a three-year captain. Neri also helped Santa Teresa to the 2013 CCS Championship and was named a first-team all-league player three times. 

"Kristina comes to us with college playing experience and we expect an immediate impact from her. She is a touch and pacey player who will help in our backfield", added Teepe.

Nikki Keicher lettered in three seasons for both the soccer and lacrosse at East Meadow High School. The East Meadow, New York native earned all-conference as a junior and all-county and fifth team all-state as a senior for the Jets. Keicher played club soccer for the East Meadow ECNL Explosion.

"Nikki arrives as a versatile player, who can help shore up our midfield and backline. She is a clean technical player who plays with an edge", said Teepe.

Deanna Persico comes to Teaneck from Aurora, Ontario and Cardinal Catholic High School. Persico played for the Vaughan Soccer Club under the direction of Vito Schiraldi both the OWSL and the OYSL, which are the top two divisions in Ontario.

Teepe added, "Deanna is a dynamic goalkeeper with good presence in the box. She likes to play off the line and aid the backs. In addition, she likes to start the attack with her distribution."
