BOSTON, Mass. --Â The Fairleigh Dickinson men's indoor track and field team completed a successful John Thomas Terrier Invitational, hosted by Boston University, on Saturday. FDU recorded three personal records en route to having six athletes claim top-15 finishes.
Graduate student
Jared Hanko (Montville, N.J./Trinity Christian School) was impressive in the 800-meter run after finishing in fifth place (out of 116) with a time of 1:52.03 for a personal record.
A second personal record was established in the 500-meter dash, as sophomore
Jenya Dyagilev (Almaty, Kazakhstan/Fort Lee, N.J.) clocked in at 1:04.23, which was good enough for a 10th-place finish (out of 63).
In the 200-meter dash, sophomore
Jasper Savoy (Lusby, Md./Gwynn Park) came close in constructing a new personal record but still crossed the finish line in 12th place (out of 159) with a time of 21.84.
But sophomore
Mohamed Cisse (Upper Marlboro, Md./Largo) did establish a new personal record in the 400-meter dash after he recorded a time of 48.35 en route to a 14th-place finish (out of 152).
Fellow classmate
Darrel Gooding (Somerset, N.J./Franklin Township) collected a 15th-place finish (out of 80) in the 5000-meter run with a time of 14:50.50, while another member of the sophomore class,
Moquiez Headly (/), leaped 6.48 meters (21'3.25") in the long jump for a 14th-place finish (out of 55).
The Knights will return to action Jan. 30-31 at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships, hosted by Manhattan, which will take place in Riverdale, N.Y. and New York.
