Columbia Classic Draws
TEANECK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson tennis teams return to action this weekend when the men's team heads to New York, N.Y. to take part in the Columbia Classic at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center and the women's team travels to Flushing Meadows, N.Y. for the USTA Invitational at the USTA National Tennis Center.
The men's side will compete Friday, Oct. 5-Sunday, Oct. 7, while the women's tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6-Monday, Oct. 8.
FDU's men's team has not played since Sept. 21-23 at the USTA Invitational in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. The Knights had a good showing with three singles players and one doubles team qualifying for the finals of their respective flights. Senior

The women are coming off a 7-0 home win over Northeast Conference opponent Monmouth on Sept. 27. No. 3 singles player
Egzona Morina (Prishtina, Kosovo/American School of Kosovo), who was named NEC Player of the Month for September, was victorious in singles and doubles against Monmouth. NEC Rookie of the Month, No. 5 singles player
Nicole Chis (Highland Park, N.J./Highland Park), cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the win in her first NEC match.
The women's team will take on Seton Hall in South Orange, N.J. for their second dual of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. For the men's side, the Knights will head north to New Haven, Conn. for the ITA Regional Championships on Thursday, Oct. 18-Tuesday, Oct. 23.
